\"Santa<\/a>Traveling over the holidays can be a lot of fun, but pet parents often worry about their animals when they\u2019re on the road. Having seen our share of anxious parents, we have the 411 on how you can breathe easier, knowing that your dog or cat is comfortable and well-cared for while you\u2019re away:<\/p>\n

Prepare your Caregiver.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Does your dog have a special diet? Is your cat fearful of loud noises? What time do your pets typically eat? How often do they go out? Are they on medication? Think about those things that keep your pet\u2019s life running smoothly and write them down. Then, go over them verbally with your pet\u2019s caregiver. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have the \u201cRight Stuff.\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Whether your pet is going to be at a boarding facility<\/a><\/strong> or a friend\u2019s house, hand over the right supplies to your pet\u2019s caregiver: meds, food, and a few favorite toys or a blanket. These items will make the transition go more smoothly.<\/p>\n

Get Immunizations.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If your pet is going to be around other animals, check to see that all of your pet\u2019s immunizations are up-to-date. At Pet Palace, for instance, we require dogs to have their rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella vaccinations; cats need to have rabies and FCRVP vaccinations.<\/p>\n

Long, emotional goodbyes can leave your pet stressed. Remember that it won\u2019t be long before you\u2019re reunited with your furry friend and do your best to remain low-key during your goodbye. The objective is to minimize the significance of your departure, rather than to make it seem like the world is coming to an end!<\/p>\n
